Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, will tomorrow unveil a policy blueprint outlining his proposed roadmap for tackling poverty, insecurity and accelerating Nigeria’s development between 2027 and 2031.
The document, titled, “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity: Governance & Accelerated Development — A Road Map to a New Nigeria, 2027–2031,” was authored by Adebayo and is expected to provide details of his policy direction ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Its public presentation is scheduled for 2pm tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8, at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
According to Adebayo, the blueprint places poverty and insecurity at the centre of the SDP’s proposed governance agenda and outlines strategies for addressing the two challenges alongside accelerated national development.
The SDP is presenting the document as more than a campaign manifesto, with Adebayo expected to explain how its proposals would be translated into concrete programmes if elected president in 2027.
The presentation is expected to attract political stakeholders, professionals, members of the diplomatic community, civil society organisations, the media and other Nigerians interested in the country’s policy direction.

Adebayo has consistently made poverty reduction, economic opportunities, security and effective governance central to his political message.
The unveiling comes as poverty, unemployment, insecurity, inflation and declining purchasing power remain major issues shaping political discourse ahead of the 2027 elections.
With the theme, “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity,” Adebayo is expected to make the case that Nigeria should move beyond managing the two problems to addressing their underlying causes.
The event will be hosted by SDP National Chairman, Sadiq Abubakar Gombe.
The party, in its invitation to the presentation, declared: “SDP… Progress! A New Nigeria is Possible.”
The unveiling is expected to provide an opportunity for Nigerians to scrutinise the policies and programmes Adebayo and the SDP intend to pursue in their quest to build what they describe as “a new Nigeria.”
