Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has thrown his support behind the Hon. Sadiq Dasin-led interim leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State.
On Saturday, Dasin was inaugurated as the interim Chairman of Adamawa ADC despite the existence of a splinter group in the state.
North East National Vice Chairman of the party and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr. Babachir David Lawal inaugurated the Dasin-led transition committee.
Mrs Blaise Hungushi Osagie was installed as interim Secretary in a move the ADC national leadership said was part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku expressed support for the new party structure in a Tuesday statement.
He said, “I extend heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Sadiq Dasin and Mrs Blaise Hungushi Osagie on their inauguration as Chairman and Secretary of the Adamawa State Transition Implementation Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday, 25 October 2025.
“It is my hope and prayer that their inauguration will strengthen our party’s structure and unify all ADC members in Adamawa State. I fully and unequivocally support this leadership as inaugurated.
“I, therefore, urge all members and stakeholders of ADC to rally behind this team and focus on the real task of building a credible opposition that will deliver better governance to the people of Adamawa and Nigeria at large.”
Daily Sun reports that Adamawa ADC remains enmeshed in crisis as the Assistant National Organising Secretary and North East Zonal Organising Secretary, Umar Bello Jada, popularly known as Calculate, on Sunday inaugurated a parallel 44-man caretaker committee led by Mallam Saidu Komsiri to steer the party’s affairs in the state.
