The Adamawa State governor elect, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called on all stakeholders in the progress of Adamawa to join his government in ensuring that the people of the state are well served, just as he described the 2019 elections as a referendum for a socially accountable governance in the state.
Fintiri, who spoke in Yola, noted that his elections was a marching order for reforms and investment in the future of the state and its people, towards securing a better future for them.
He said: “Let me begin by expressing my heartfelt appreciation for the trust you, the people of Adamawa State, reposed in me, by the way you trooped out to vote for your preferred candidate on March 9, and, also, in the supplementary election on March 29.
“The election has been won and lost; it is now left for all of us to come together and move our dear state forward to the 21st century trajectory.
“I want to say, what an ernormous previlege and honour it is to be trusted with the government of this state, and I’m deeply conscious of this honour and responsibility at this time.
“To our opponents, even though I profoundly disagree with many of the things they might have said during the cause of the campaign, I thought they showed extraordinary resilience in the face of difficult circumstances.”
