For Nollywood actor/producer and chairman Bọọlụ Ogbe, DomBen Chisom, talented actors do not have to offer sex to secure movie roles.
According to him, the untalented actors who engage in sex-for-role end up messing the ambiance of the movie, and subject its outcome to mediocrity.
Speaking further, Chisom said that he has not been victim of sex-for-role. In his words: “I have never been a victim. Also, I’m an advocate against the trend of giving out roles for sex. As a producer, once you are engaged in such, you eventually find out that those that offer sexual favours for roles cannot act to save their lives. They end up messing up the ambiance of the movie. Talented actresses do not have to offer sex or any favour because of their pedigree and exquisite acting skills.”
However, the producer of movies like Coded Deal, The Unknown, Break the Blade and founder of Bọọlụ Ogbe in Enugu, disclosed that the 4th edition of the sport competition will countdown to December 18th, 2023 for the grand finale between Uwani and Obiagu, in partnership with Enugu government and sponsored by Bet9ja.
On the season tournament, Chisom said: “After the EndSARS protest, we thought of the best means to unite the youths, get them off the streets and keep them busy. Football was the idea that came to mind. It is one sport that is non-discriminatory irrespective of tribe or religion. Fortunately, the maiden edition was pulled off in partnership with the Police under the stewardship of Ebere Amarizu. It was a huge success, which attracted the likes of Nkem Owoh, who was in the finals with other dignitaries like Hon. Alfred Nzekwe. The commissioner, Hon. Ekweremmadu saw the good work we were doing and keyed into the idea.
“The second edition was sponsored by Zenith Bank and attracted the attention of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie and Rev. Ejike Mbaka. The third edition was sponsored by BetKing and this year’s edition, being the fourth, is being sponsored by Bet9ja. We believe that this edition would take the programme to another level, and in time would be able to produce global stars and famous players.”
