Accident claims 2 lives on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of two persons in an accident that occurred at the long bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, yesterday.

Mrs Florence Okpe, the spokesperson of FRSC in Ogun State, in a statement, said that one person sustained injury in the accident.

Okpe explained that the incident occurred at 5:38 a.m, and was caused by a road obstruction and fatigue.

Okpe  said that the accident involved a Mazda bus with registration number:EDE 217 XB, and a MAN diesel truck with  number plate:AJL 715 XA.

“The injured victim was taken to Hopeland Hospital, Warewa, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of Real Divine Hospital, Ibafo,” she said.

Okpe said that the Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, advised motorists to always be on alert while driving.

He also called on motorists to always have some rest to avoid fatigue while at the wheel.
