Access Bank GMD, Wigwe, wife, son feared dead in chopper crash in US

The Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Herbert Wigwe, his wife and son have been reported to be involved in a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border, the United States of America. The precise location is said to be in the Mojave Desert.

Also suspected to be on board the crashed chopper was Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group).

There were all together six occupants in the ill-fated helicopter.

According to a report on ABC news, no survivors have been found so far since the crash occurred on Friday night.

ABC news, which quoted a statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, said: “The scene of the crash was determined to be East of the 15-Freeway, near Halloran Springs Road.

“We are not able to confirm how many people were on board or their names. No survivors have been located.”
