National President of the Association of Disaster Managers without Borders, Dickson Omodiale Osajie, has called on the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to accept the outcome of the presidential election result as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Addressing newsmen in Lagos, yesterday, Osajie, a  security expert, observed that refusal by politicians to accept election results would further heighten restiveness across the country. He said the electorate would have more confidence in the country’s electoral process when politicians refuse to see election as a do-or-die affair.

Osajie is optimistic that the governorship and House of Assembly elections scheduled for March 9 would record free and fair process. However, he expressed reservations in the troubled parts of the country, especially in the North East.

He urged the government to ensure adequate and specialised security, insisting that would, to a very great extent, work against the success of elections in those terror-struck parts of the country.
