Abia Warriors turns to God ahead new league Season

Saudi Arabia is taking women’s football seriously, says coach

The Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club, Mr. John Obuh has left no stone unturned in his bid to ready the club for the new football season. So far, he has equipped the playing department of the club with quality recruits. The coaching crew has enjoyed good additions, while the management team has been beefed up.

Not relenting in his drive for a successful season, the spiritual aspect of preparedness of the club has now been visited.

Earlier today — 27th August 2023, a dedication service was held in honour of the  management, technical crew, and players of the Umuahia based outfit at the Saint Peter’s Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Umuahia Parish.

During the church service, the Minister In-Charge, Reverend Chinedu Okoroafor extolled the virtue of leaning on God, and charged the players not to rely on their footballing skills alone, but to also depend on God, referencing the bible portion of Proverbs 3:5.

He thereafter prayed for the players, technical crew, and management of the club. That done, he assured them he will keep praying for them and expect them to come back with testimonies as he is looking forward to seeing them win trophies.

In a show of love, and at the request of the Reverend, the church members made a free will donation to encourage the players.

While addressing the church on behalf of the management, technical crew and players of Abia Warriors, the Chairman, Mr. John Obuh gave reason for the dedication service.

“Before I assumed duty as a coach, I have always brought my team to Presbyterian Church for dedication in any place I was appointed, and it has never failed me…”.

He also expressed his gratitude to the church for their kind gesture and demonstrated the  club’s appreciation by extending a donation for the church to the Minister In-Charge.
