Abia State is set to host international investors, business leaders and trade experts from Turkey and Europe at the forthcoming Abia-Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition.

The event is designed to position the state as a prime destination for global investment and partnership.

The summit, themed “Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity,” will take place from November 25 to 27, 2025, in, Umuahia, the Abia State capital and is being organised by the Abia State Government through the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in collaboration with VEGA Growing Global Enterprise.

Speaking at a press briefing in Umuahia, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Mr. Green-Amakwe, said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed with VEGA to ensure a successful and impactful summit.

According to him, the event will provide a unique platform for local and foreign investors to explore opportunities in Abia’s vibrant economy and experience firsthand the business-friendly environment created by Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

“The administration of Dr. Alex Otti is committed to creating a more favourable investment environment for our people and investors who wish to identify with Abia,” Green-Amakwe said. “We are working assiduously with our partners to host a world-class investment summit that will open new frontiers for trade and collaboration.”

He explained that the summit would focus on key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing, textile and leatherworks, energy and infrastructure, trade, and logistics, among others.

“Our key objective is to strengthen bilateral relations between Turkey, Abia, and Nigeria at large,” he added. “We also intend to showcase our products and services to the dynamic African market while promoting business-to-business (B2B) meetings that connect investors, exporters, and local enterprises.”

The Special Adviser further noted that the government is working closely with several chambers of commerce across Nigeria — including those in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, as well as Aba and Umuahia — to ensure the summit’s success.

Acknowledging the vital role of the media in promoting the initiative, Green-Amakwe urged journalists to continue supporting the state’s economic transformation drive.

“Your positive coverage can significantly shape public perception and enhance credibility,” he said. “We count on your partnership to give this event the visibility it deserves.”

With expectations high, the Abia-Turkiye Investment Summit is poised to attract global attention, strengthen bilateral economic ties, and unlock new pathways for sustainable growth and prosperity in Abia State and beyond.
