Abia House of Assembly passes 2024 Appropriation Bill into Law

The Abia State House of Assembly has passed the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N567,240,095,972.00 in law.

Governor Alex Otti had on December 12, presented the 2024 appropriation christened the “Budget of New Beginning” to the assembly.

Speaking after the budget was passed, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa congratulated his colleagues for their dedication and commitment towards the expeditious passage of the budget.

He out the estimated capital expenditure as N476,011,317,893.00 and the recurrent expenditure at N91, 228,778,079.00.

Emeruwa said the budget when assented to by the Governor, would be deemed to have come into law on the first day of January 2024.

He expressed optimism the budget would be implemented to the latter by the executive arm for the betterment of the people of the state.
