Abia House of Assembly passes 2024 appropriation bill into law

The Abia State House of Assembly has passed the 2024 appropriation bill of N567,240,095,972.00 into law.

Governor Alex Otti had on December 12 presented the appropriation bill christened the “Budget of New Beginning,” to the lawmakers.

Speaking after the budget was passed, the Speaker, Emmanuel Emeruwa,  congratulated his colleagues for their dedication and commitment towards the expeditious passage of the budget.

The budget has an estimated capital expenditure of N476,011,317,893.00 and the recurrent expenditure of N91, 228,778,079.00.

Emeruwa said the budget, when assented to by the Governor, would be deemed to have come into law on the first day of January 2024.

He expressed optimism the budget would be implemented to the letter by the executive arm for the betterment of the people of the state.
