The sleepy and rustic community of Umuokereke Ngwa in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, last weekend, was thrown into mourning following the stabbing to death of one of their sons by his wife.
It was gathered that the woman, identified as Sarah Innocent, who barely got married to her husband, whose name was given as Innocent Nwaoji, in December 2025, about eight months ago, last Saturday night, allegedly stabbed him to death.
The circumstances surrounding the woman’s action were not yet clear as it was gathered there was no prior quarrel between the couple that could lead to such a dastardly act while Nwaoji was asleep. The incident has left residents of the community in shock, with many wondering what could have led the woman into taking such callous action.
A native of the area identified as David Amaraizu, while confirming the incident, said the development put residents of the community in shock. Amaraizu revealed that the couple only got married in December 2025, barely eight months before the incident, without any noticeable quarrel or friction between them.
