Abia APC Reps, Apugo, petitions INEC

INEC

Chuks Onuoha, Umuahia.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Martins Ikechukwu Apugo, has petitioned the National Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over alleged irregularities in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Commission had declared his Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP) opponent,  Sam Onuigbo, winner of the election which took place on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

But Apugo, who addressed newsmen in his Campaign office along Bende Road, Umuahia, stated that he was conversant with the activities that took place in his constituency, which violated the electoral act of 2011 as amended.

He said the presence of Onuigbo at the collation Centre was a gross violation of the electoral act, urging the INEC to disqualify him as a candidate as stipulated by the law.
