The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has announced the results of its House of Representatives primary elections, with some prominent politicians and consensus candidates emerging across the state’s federal constituencies.
The Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Senator Yakubu Hosseini, announced the results at the APC State Secretariat in Kaduna, stating that the exercise was conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
For Zaria Federal Constituency, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajuddeen, emerged unopposed with 930 votes.
“Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajuddeen, having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and Guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and returned elected as the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Zaria Federal Constituency,” Hosseini declared.
In Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Amos Gwamna Magaji emerged through consensus after polling 1,930 votes.
For Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Samaila Abdul Suleiman secured victory with 3,049 votes, defeating Abdulaziz Abubakar Kaka, who scored 65 votes, and Abubakar Mahmoud, who polled 96 votes.
Hosseini said: “Honourable Samaila Abdul Suleiman, having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and Guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election.”
In Kaura Federal Constituency, Benjamin Gugong defeated Donatus Mathieu, polling 1,085 votes against 255 votes.

Kauru LG, Mukthar Zakari Chawai – 1,750 votes.
Similarly, Felix Joseph Bagudu emerged as the winner for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency with 1,580 votes, while Daniel Amos was declared winner for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency.
For Kagarko/Kachia Federal Constituency, Gabriel Salle emerged victorious after satisfying the requirements of the party.
Also announced during the exercise was the emergence of Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, son of elder statesman Prof. Ango Abdullahi, who polled 920 votes in his constituency’s contest.
Other successful contestants announced included Abubakar Shehu Giwa – Birnin Gwari/Giwa – 2,669 votes.
Hussaini Muhammad Jalo – Igabi – 1,171 votes. Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed – Kaduna South – 1,130 votes. Bashir Suleiman Zuntu – Ikara/Kubau – 1,787 votes.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State APC Chairman, Atiku Sankey, formally accepted the results and declared the exercise concluded.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were present at the venue to monitor the exercise and receive the collated results from the various constituencies.
