From Isaac Job, Uyo
Akwa Ibom State House of Representative member for Oron/ Urue Offong Oruko/Okobo and Mbo Federal Constituency, Martin Esin, has mobilised over 100, 000 youths across all local government areas for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Pastor Umo Eno for second term in 2027.
Addressing a press conference in Uyo under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Ibom Youth United, Esin said youths in the state have adopted President Tinubu, Akpabio and Eno as sole presidential candidate, Senator for Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district and governor on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsements was done through a motion moved by Mr. Otobong Bob, member representing Nsit Ubium state constituency in Akwa Ibom House Assembly and seconded by Mr Uwemedimo Asuquo, member representing Uyo state constituency.
Briefing journalists on behalf of the youths, Esin said the adoption of the candidates was due to their superlative performance. He pointed out that since President Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership on May 29, 2023, his reforms have shaped Nigeria’s economy in all sectors.
Esin who was accompanied by Clement Jimbo representing Abak/ Etim Ekpo/ Ika federal Constituency and the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Aniekan Umanah explained that Tinubu through the instrumentality of the Renewed Hope Agenda has demonstrated courage to take tough decisions to set the nation on the path of genuine economic growth and sustainable development as well as implement policies that promote true federalism.
He said the youth had declared their support for President Tinubu, Sen. Akpabio and Governor Eno to ensure continuity of good governance in 2027.
Esin praised Tinubu for bold economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, which he said had boosted revenues to states and local governments and ended persistent fuel scarcity.
He emphasised that increased revenue had translated into renewed development and youth-focused social investment programmes across the country.
He also acknowledged the senate president for his legislative leadership, describing him as pivotal to ensuring smooth passage and implementation of key federal policies.
The federal lawmaker applauded Eno’s ARISE Agenda, describing it as a quiet revolution that has strengthened unity and accelerated development in the State through investments in roads, aviation, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and social welfare.
He said based on these achievements and the need to consolidate ongoing reforms, Akwa Ibom youths unanimously resolved to endorse Tinubu, Akpabio and Eno for continuity beyond 2027.
“In view of the foregoing and many more reasons, the teeming youth of Akwa Ibom State believe strongly that the nation needs continuity for the consolidation of the landmark achievements that have been recorded by both the federal government and the Akwa Ibom State government in this dispensation.
“It is on this note that we, the youth of Akwa Ibom State under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Ibom Youth United hereby endorse President Bola Tinubu, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, and Gov. Umo Eno for a second term in office for 2027. Youths in the state will mobilise all Akwa Ibom people to support the president to continue his good economic policies and move the country forward.”
