Early Life and Education
Chief Sir Henry Ifeanyichukwu Njoku (KSM, MBA, FNIS, FIBE, FISM, FCIA) was born on February 2, 1962, in Umuovum Owerri. A native of Ulakwo in OwerriNorth Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. He has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to professional development.
He began his formal education at Ulakwo Primary School in Imo State,wherehe obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1975. He proceeded to Okpala Secondary School, also in Imo State, earning his General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 2000. His pursuit of higher education led him to Enugu State University of Science and Technology, where he obtained an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Administration in 2002. He later earned a HigherNational Diploma (HND) in Business Administration from Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, in 2003. Furthering his academic aspirations, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Business Studies from Rivers State University of Science and Technology in 2006 and later completed an MBA in Business Administration at Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2007.
His educational journey culminated in an MSc in Management from the University of Portharcourt Business School in 2024, and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Management at the same institution.
Professional Training and Certifications
Chief Njoku has attended several professional training programs, conferences, and seminars worldwide. Notable among these are the Leadership and Governance Certificate from Global Training Consulting, London (2013), andthe Leadership and Corporate Governance Certificate from GTC Training/Consulting at the American College, Dubai (2013). He also holds anExecutive Professional Diploma in Freight Forwarding from the Nigeria Instituteof Freight Forwarding (2012), among many other certifications that have honedhis expertise in business, corporate governance, and public administration.
Professional Career and Business Leadership
Chief Njoku is a distinguished entrepreneur and business leader with vast experience in logistics, shipping, and freight forwarding. He is the driving force behind Harritex Services Limited, a leading logistics and shipping company headquartered in Portharcourt, Rivers State. Under his leadership, thecompany has established itself as a major player in the maritime industry,offering cutting-edge freight forwarding solutions. In addition to his business acumen, he has played a signiicant role in thedevelopment of the freight forwarding industry in Nigeria. His expertise in international trade and supply chain management has earned him recognition both locally and internationally. As Chairman of the Institute of Export Operation and Management Nigeria, he has contributed significantly to policies aimed at improving Nigeria’s trade sector.
Offices and Positions
Chief Njoku has held numerous influential positions in governance, trade, and professional associations. He is currently a Member of the Governing Councilat the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, Owerri, and has served two terms as Vice Chairman of the Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
His leadership extends to serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for two terms at the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and as a Director at the International Federation of World Customs Brokers Association (IFCBA). He previously served as a Commissioner in Imo State for Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) and has made significant contributions to the shipping and logistics industry as Vice President, Shipping & Cabotage, at FOSSCCIMA (South-South). As a dedicated professional, he is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Administration, the Portharcourt Chamber of Commerce, and the Federal Government Port Industry Anti-Corruption Standing Committee (PIACSC). His impact extends to various social and professional organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Clearing and Forwarding Trade Group, Former Board Member of the Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone, Onne, and Grand Patron ofthe Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Rivers State Chapter. His political aspirations led him to contest for the Owerri Federal House of Representatives. He has also served as Former President of the Owerri Committee of Friends and as Vice Chairman Il, ALGON Sole Administrator(SOLAD). In August 2022, he was appointed Chairman of the Institute of Export Operations and Management Nigeria. As an oil and gas baron, he currently serves as the Senior Technical Adviser on Operations to the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), further solidifying hiscommitment to economic and trade development.
