The Rivers State sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), has charged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), 2025 Batch A Stream II, deployed to the state, to be creative and ingenious in offering their selfless services to Nigerians, describing their contributions to nation-building as critical and crucial.

He stated this at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Friday, during their swearing in ceremony.

Ibas represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Prof Ibibia Worika, commended the corps members for the giant strides made over the years in the fields of education, agriculture, primary healthcare and rural infrastructure.

He assured them that his administration would place their welfare and security in the front burner at all times.

Earlier, Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, had informed the corps members to see their mobilisation into the NYSC scheme as a “veritable opportunity to contribute to nation-building and development.”

Justice Asivosou Oriye, who represented the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi, administered the Oath of Allegiance.

A total of 2247 corps members made up of 903 males and 1,334 females were sworn in at the occasion.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has urged the corps members the deployed to the state to accept their postings in good fate and embrace the opportunity to serve the nation.

The governor gave the charge on Friday, during their swearing-in ceremony at the NYSC temporary orientation camp, Government College, Kaduna.

Represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, Governor Sani highlighted the core objective of the NYSC scheme, noting that it was established to promote national unity and integration by removing barriers created by ethnic, religious, and sectional differences.

He assured the corps members of their safety and welfare, emphasising that his administration prioritises the well being of corps members posted across the state.

Earlier, the NYSC Kaduna State Coordinator, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, commended the corps members for heeding the call to serve.
