The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death at Ijedodo area of Isheri Osun, Lagos.

It was gathered that at the weekend, a neighbour reported at Isheri Osun Police division  that he saw the suspect,Ggbolahan  Adebayo, 23, beating his girlfriend in his home in a yet -to- be  determined reason.

The man said that in  few minutes time, Adebayo started shouting that neighbours should come to his rescue,” we ran to his appointment ,only to see his girlfriend lying motionless on the bed with bruises all over her body . We immediately rushed her to a hospital in Ijegun,where the doctor on duty confirmed her dead.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said based on the report,a team of detectives visited the scene and the hospital and the scene .

He said the body of the young lady was inspected and photograph of both the scene and the deceased were taken.

The PPRO said the body was evacuated

and deposited at IDH Morgue, Yaba , for autopsy, adding that the suspect was promptly arrested.

In another development, Hundeyin said that fire extinguisher explosion has injured two persons at Olodi Apapa area of the state.

He said that  on the fateful day, a scrap dealer brought a disused fire extinguisher and while he was splitting it, the extinguisher exploded, injuring two persons and the victims were being treated at Ajegunle General Hospital.

Yet in another development, Hundeyin said the command arrested a robbery suspect who attacked Uber driver and snatched his car.

He said on February  22, a passenger, Kelvin Musa, attacked an Uber driver who was taking him to GRA,Ikeja ,but along the line at  Ile-Zik , Musa brought out a sharp knife which he used to stab the driver several times and successfully dispossessed him of his Toyota Camry.

He said a team of policemen later trailed the vehicle to Oshodi,where the suspect was intercepted and he was promptly arrested .

He said the vehicle was recovered and the victim was taken to the hospital where he is being treated .
