The Minister of Nigeria Delta Affairs, Abubakar Momoh, yesterday, tasked the people of Edo State to hold Governor Godwin Obaseki responsible for allegedly hoarding the palliative rice from the federal government meant for the poor in the state.
Momoh who gave task at Auchi during the Edo North Senatorial APC Flag off campaign accused Obaseki of keeping the rice and re-bagging it with label of Edo State government and picture of Asue Ighodalo.
He recalled telling the people on Channel Television live interview about the rice given to Edo State government when the state government refused to give it to Edo people that it is meant for.
“Obaseki denied Edo People palliative rice which the federal government gave to him to distribute to the poor people.
“I will show people what NDDC have done in the state when we start ward to ward campaign”, he said.
Addressing the rally, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, promised to create over 5000 jobs for the youths in the state within the first hundred days in office, saying that development will start from where former governor Adams Oshiomhole stopped.
Besides, he promised to create a peaceful environment in the state, adding that vices will go with the Obaseki-led government.
On his part, ex-Comrade governor Adams Oshiomhole alleged that governor Godwin Obaseki brought a man who forged voters card to contest for governor, saying “PDP as a party has no candidate as we talk, the federal high court Abuja has said so. The process that brought Asue Ighodalo in the primaries was also faulted by the federal high court in Abuja, so don’t go and waste your vote for PDP.”
He further alleged that the Edo State government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki deceived the World Bank to collect money for Edo Best, but there is nothing to show for it.
“The World Bank may have been used to collect money, Edo People will not pay, we must tell Obaseki to show where he used the money”, Oshiomhole added.
