The Provost of the College, Dr. Maurice Tyokever, disclosed while speaking to newsmen on the successes recorded so far in his eight months in office.
He highlighted the positive impact his management has made on the college community saying he has gotten the approval of a new directorate called the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CEFTED).
He said CEFTED will focus on developing manpower and entrepreneurship skills through specialized programs that differ from the regular courses offered by the college.
“These programs will be aligned with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) minimum standard to ensure quality education.”
Tyokever emphasized the need for the college to explore additional revenue streams due to financial challenges and limited funding from the government and expressed optimism that the CEFTED would help address these challenges and contribute to the overall growth of the institution.
He stated that under his leadership, the College of Education Katsina Ala has seen improvements in learning infrastructure, academic programs, and student and staff welfare.
Dr. Tyokever also shared plans to expand the degree programs offered at the college in collaboration with the University of Calabar.
