Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike and National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu are billed to participate in a security summit.

The event, titled: “National Security and Development,” is organised by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and New National Star Newspaper in Abuja.

The NUJ National Chairman, Chris Iziguzo, explained that the summit would throw up solutions to the myriad of kidnappings and killings plaguing the country.

Also, the Managing Director of the New National Star Newspaper, Obinna Nwachukwu, said it was time for the media to champion the fight against banditry through the instrumentality of the pen.

“As you are aware, in more than a decade now, security has become a major issue in Nigeria. Nowhere is safe, even Abuja, the nation’s capital is not safe like before.
