THREE African star Cricket players will this weekend feature
on CNN African Voices Playmakers sponsored by telecom-
munications giant, Globacom.
The trio of South African National Women’s Cricket
Team Captain, Eric Dusingizimana; Rwandan National
Cricket Team’s former Captain, Suné Luus and Craig Ervine,
Zimbabwean National Cricket Team Captain will tell viewers
how the sport is fast gaining ground on the African continent
and their efforts at rising to the occasion to propel their passion
into more reckoning.
Born in 1987, Dusingizimana is a Guinness World Record
holder in cricket which he set in 2016 for a social cause. He
achieved renowned for his marathon batting effort in 2016
where he batted for 51 hours non-stop in order to set a Guin-
ness World Record, while Luus, 27, on her part, plays for the
South African national cricket team as a leg spin bowling
all-rounder.
Ervine, 35, is an international cricketer who captains
Zimbabwe in limited overs matches. A left-handed batter, he
has played Test and limited overs cricket for the Zimbabwe
national cricket team and first-class cricket for a variety of
Zimbabwean sides in the Logan Cup.
The programme airs Saturday at 9.30 a.m., Sunday at 4.30
a.m., 7:30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.
