Organizers of 3rd Ubong King Memorial Cup, has unveiled
Saturday, 14th of October as kick-off date for the 2023 edition
of the annual soccer tourney.
This was disclosed by Public Relations Officer, Lagos State
Grassroots Soccer Association, Taofeek Ajibola who speak on
behalf of wife of the deseased, Mrs Unyime King. Expressing
further, Ajibola revealed the 32 teams format competition will
see under-15 boys and girls showcased their talent in memory
of the late philanthropist.
“This competition has come to stay and I can confirm to
you the kick-off date remains Saturday 14th of October. The
opening match will kick-off at Elegbata Sports Complex, La-
gos Island. The boys opener will see Wasback FC of Lagos
Mainland tackle St. John FC of Iyana Ipaja while Future Star
of Ikorodu will dare Ultimate FC of Surulere few hours later.
Greater Tomorrow and Kudus FC will trade tackle on Mon-
day, 16th of October after which Atiku FC will be slugging it
out with Zamadek. Fixtures of other matches have been dish
out to club representative.
“The final of this year Championship has been slated for
Tuesday 26th December 2023 at Legacy Pitch, Surulere, La-
gos. We thank wife of the late philanthropist, Mrs Unyime-Ivy
King for her kind gesture in making sure legacy of her late
