A total number of 643 corps members of the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 have passed out from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after their one year mandatory service in Kebbi state.
The number comprises 444 males and 159 females while one of them received a certificate of commendation, five were hit with extension of service for various offences ranging from absenteeism and truancy.
Also, four corps members who absconded from the service were asked to repeat their service year.
The NYSC Kebbi State Coordinator, Alh Bala Dabo, who stated this during the passing out parade at the NYSC Secretariat, Birnin Kebbi, congratulated them for their patriotism and dedication during their one-year national service.
Speaking at the low-key passing out programme, the State Coordinator who had just taken over the mantle of leadership in the Kebbi Secretariat expressed mixed feelings on just meeting the corps members for the first time and then bidding them farewell.
Baba said he was briefed on the achievements the corps members recorded in the areas of community development service, health initiatives for rural dwellers, and other activities in which they actively engaged in as briefed on assuming duty. He charged them to remain good citizens of the Country even after their service year.
The State Coordinator went further to exhaustively encouraged the corps members to take the skills they acquired during the service year seriously, emphasizing the importance of using the Skills to become entrepreneurs in today’s challenging labour market where white-collar jobs are not readily available.
Bala also performed the sample distribution of the Certificate of National Service to corps members while certificates were equally distributed to deserving corps members in all the local government areas of the state.
