Tragedy struck yesterday, when six people lost their lives in a fatal motor accident which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday on Lokoja-Abuja Road.
Ten other people were also said to be fatally injured in the auto crash, which occurred at 4:00am at Ohono village located on the ever busy high way.
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission ( FRSC) , Mr. Ogochukwu Ugboma who confirmed the accident said two vehicles; a truck laden with cement products belonging to a Cement Company and a J5 bus were involved in a head on collision.
He said he immediately mobilised his men to the scene to avoid disruption of traffic flow, saying four other persons escaped unhurt.
Ugboma also attributed possible cause of the accident to hazy weather and state of the road, adding that the injured were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja for treatment while the corpses were also deposited in the morgue of the hospital.
