No fewer than 4,000 indigent women in Ondo City, Ondo State, have received financial support and food items under an empowerment initiative aimed at boosting small-scale businesses and alleviating economic hardship.
The programme, held in Aiyeyemi, Ondo City, saw beneficiaries receive seed funding and bags of rice to support their livelihoods and enable them to start or expand businesses.
The initiative was organised by the Funke Fadeni Foundation as part of activities marking the 10th remembrance of Late Chief Adefunke Fadeni, in honour of her legacy of humanitarian service.
Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director of KSI Group, Koleola Emmanuel Fadeni, said the programme was designed to reach vulnerable groups across communities.
“What we are doing here today is that we are seeing how we can reach the people that are in need—like widows, single mothers, and people that really need help,” he said.

He urged women to embrace entrepreneurship and remain resilient despite economic challenges.
“My advice to every woman out there is to work hard and not lose hope… every woman should find something to do for a living.”
Fadeni added that the foundation would sustain its interventions through skills training and continued support for small businesses.
“We have youths we trained on different skills… everyone should have what he or she is doing for a living.”
Some beneficiaries, including Mrs Florence Ogunduyile and Mrs Blessing Olamide, commended the organisers, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
