Four students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State are feared dead as the students’ protest which erupted this morning, spread beyond the campus.

The four students were reportedly killed during clashes with security agents who were drafted to restore normalcy to the university that has been on fire since morning as a result of the protest.

The protesters were said to have blocked the institution’s main entrance axis of the Umuahia/Ikot Ekpene highway, preventing human and vehicular movement along the ever busy highway.

Protests were also said to have spread to the hostels where students who hitherto were not part of the protest, have been forced to join.

Security personnel have been drafted to restore peace on campus, but were yet to achieve that as at the time of filing the report.
