House of Ajebo Animation Studios has relaunched its flagship children’s learning franchise, Jeni & Keni, unveiling a redesigned 3D version with ambitions to position the brand as Africa’s next major EdTech export.
The relaunch event, held on Saturday, August 16, introduced an upgraded Jeni & Keni built on an international-grade 3D animation pipeline, immersive sound design, and a digital-first distribution strategy across YouTube and its dedicated platform.
Founder and Creative Director, Erem Emeka Nehemiah, who has been a pioneer in African animation since 2012, said the new phase of the franchise was about much more than an animation upgrade.
“With Jeni & Keni in 3D, we are not just producing content; we are building Africa’s footprint in the global EdTech ecosystem. Our goal is to deliver scalable, export-ready IP that makes African kids proud of who they are, while giving the world a new lens on our culture,” he explained.
Aimed at children aged 0–6, the franchise blends entertainment with learning through music, storytelling, and gamified experiences. Nehemiah noted that the studio is also expanding the Jeni & Keni universe with interactive folktales, educational games, and child-friendly Afrobeat music to create a “full-stack digital learning ecosystem.”
Co-founder Uchenna Erem highlighted the broader opportunity for African creators to compete in the global children’s content market.
“We are at a unique moment where Afrobeats, Nollywood, and African innovation are shaping global conversations. Jeni & Keni sits at that intersection—an animation IP powered by tech, rooted in culture, and designed for global scalability,” she said.
She added that the platform will run on a content plus community model, giving families not only access to episodes but also free educational resources, games, and cultural learning tools.
With its upgraded animation engine, digital-first rollout, and strong cultural positioning, House of Ajebo Studios hopes to position Jeni & Keni as one of Africa’s flagship export-ready children’s IPs, capable of competing with international giants such as Cocomelon and Peppa Pig.
