Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 24 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in their hideouts in Kajuru, Tafa and Kauru local governments. Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Rabiu, said: “We are going after the bandits to checkmate them out of the state. It will be too hard for criminals to carry out their operations.
“I visited some black spots and redeployed some of the tactical team operatives. The command has recorded breakthrough in its sustained crackdown on banditry, gunrunning and kidnapping, arresting suspects and recovering cache of illegal arms in the last two weeks.
“The command conducted a major clearance operation between February 10 and 13, 2026, targeting identified bandits’ camps and other criminal hideouts. We arrested 17 suspected notorious bandits, dislodging others from their camps

“Some suspected bandits’ informants and drug suppliers linked to the criminal network were apprehended. A team of detectives of Anti-Car Theft section arrested seven suspected bandits. Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested one suspect in Jaji, Igabi LG.
“Another suspect in Unguwar Rogo, Jos North, Plateau State, was arrested in connection with supply network believed to be fuelling criminal activities within and outside Kaduna State. Three suspects with locally fabricated AK rifles and a fabricated pump action gun were arrested.
“Operatives raided hideouts along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway. We are doing constant patrols for the safety of the people. Two suspects from from Malumfashi LG, Katsina State, were arrested.”
