Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Accord Party governorship candidate in Taraba State, Professor Jerome Nyameh, has unveiled a four-pillar agenda on which he intends to campaign, saying the people deserve a new brand of politics anchored on ideas and service delivery.
Nyameh, who spoke in an interview with the Sunday Sun in Jalingo, said his campaign would focus on issues rather than personal attacks, adding that Taraba State needed to move away from a political culture characterised by violence, bitterness and falsehood.
He said campaigns and elections in the state had, over the years, been marred by violence, attacks on opponents and the spread of falsehood because many candidates lacked concrete ideologies and programmes to present to the electorate.
“Our campaign shall be strictly issue-based. There will be no name-calling, no insults, and no personal attacks. We shall rise above petty politics and focus on what truly matters to the people of Taraba State.
“Our first pillar is the Viable Blueprint Agenda tagged ‘Taraba Therapy’, which is a clear, comprehensive and people-centered roadmap for transforming the state.
“The second pillar is our Track Record, in which we highlighted the tangible evidence of service, dedication and results from myself and my running mate.
“The third pillar is Who We Are, and What We Have To Offer as practical and realistic solutions for the development of Taraba,” he said.

Nyameh expressed confidence that selling his candidacy to the electorate would not be difficult, saying his record of service and the impact of his activities were already visible across the state.
He said his ultimate goal was to build a Taraba where opportunities were created, infrastructure developed, the economy revived, and citizens lived in peace and dignity.
“Our reputation speaks for itself. Our track record is visible and our blueprint, Taraba Therapy, is here to solve problems and not create problems. We will develop our state where opportunities are created, infrastructure is developed, our economy is revived, and our people live in peace and dignity.
“We can’t run away from reality, and our reality now is that this State is terribly indebted. We need to tackle this indebtedness through our principle of recovery, resource utilisation and renegotiation. Most of the debts are completely outrageous and so we would just have to renegotiate them, using the leverages we have.
“Of course, we would make sure that resources that come to the State and our resources are optionally utilised to offset the debts, provide the much needed infrastructure and empower our people instead of looting blindly.”
Stakeholders have said the Accord Party is gradually gaining traction across Taraba State following the emergence of Nyameh, a seasoned entrepreneur credited with empowering thousands of people across the state, alongside other candidates regarded by many as credible.
