The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman, North West,Garba Datti , has described the nomination of Vice President Kashim Shetimma as the party’s 2027 vice presidential candidate as a strategic move.
Datti, in a statement, on Wednesday, lauded President Bola Tinubu for choosing Shetimma as his running mate for the 2027 presidential contest.
The party leader, who described the Vice President “as a very loyal, committed, competent, and dependable ally,” said his choice would make APC victory in the next presidential poll easier.
“This action by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is a demonstration of his trust and confidence in the Vice President. So far, Nigeria and Nigerians are well pleased with the vice president for his loyalty and commitment to his fatherland.
“The President has once again displayed his political sagacity with this decision. The APC remains the party to beat in the next general elections.
“May I use this medium to call on the teeming members of our party and every well-meaning Nigerian to continue to support the APC administration as it works tirelessly to deliver on its mandate,” Datti said.
