The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised former presidential candidate Peter Obi, alleging that his political strategy ahead of the 2027 elections is focused on securing party tickets rather than building lasting political structures.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, claimed that Obi is “perpetually shopping” for platforms where he can emerge as a candidate without contest.
“Peter Obi is perpetually shopping for a party where he can clinch tickets uncontested; he does not want to build a party; he cannot build a party; he is not interested in building a party. His is to search around, snatch a ticket to run the presidential election,” Morka said.
He also took a swipe at recent political gatherings involving opposition figures, particularly at the Ibadan summit, dismissing suggestions of broad consensus among participants.

“There is nothing that happens in Ibadan that is a consensus,” he stated.
Morka further accused opposition coalitions of lacking a clear agenda for governance, alleging that their engagements are largely fixated on criticising the ruling party.
“When they huddled together in that hall in Ibadan, you’d think they’d spend time discussing plans for Nigeria. But yet again, just like with the so-called ADC National Convention, they continued to obsess over the APC,” he added.
The APC spokesman maintained that the ruling party remains focused on governance, while urging opposition actors to prioritise substantive policy discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
