…say President has the potential to secure, save, develop Nigeria

From Charity Nwakaudu, Abuja

Niger Delta youths, students, women and other stakeholders have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027, declaring that he has the capacity to secure, save and develop Nigeria.

The group, under the aegis of Niger Delta Accredited Supporters for Tinubu 2027, said it would mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Joseph Ebodei, who disclosed this in Abuja, said the inauguration of the organisation on August 18, 2026, had further demonstrated the growing support for Tinubu across the Niger Delta and beyond.

Ebodei commended prominent Niger Delta leaders and stakeholders for their contributions towards strengthening the APC and supporting the administration.

He singled out Double High Chief General Livinus Alix Odudu, Senior Patron of the group, for his commitment and support.

According to him, the association believes the Tinubu administration is taking steps to improve the lives of Nigerians, strengthen democratic governance and drive development across the country.

Odudu, on his part, pledged continued support for Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He said the group would deploy effective structures for grassroots mobilisation, voter enlightenment, campaign activities and other legitimate democratic engagements across the Niger Delta and Nigeria.

National Secretary of the association, Hon. Dennis Ariaga, said women had also continued to identify with the group, particularly through programmes aimed at empowerment and greater participation in governance.

He commended the association’s Matron, Mrs Iku Tobechukwu Victoria, for her contributions to women-focused programmes.

Ariaga also acknowledged the roles of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile Idele, in advancing opportunities for Nigerian women.

On security, Patron of the group, Hon. Sheikh Hassan Olughu, praised Tinubu for efforts to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.

He said placing capable professionals in strategic positions would help the country confront terrorism, banditry and other criminal activities.

Ariaga also commended the Managing Director/CEO of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Alhaji Bamanga Usman Jada, for efforts to promote a secure and conducive environment for oil and gas investments.

He said increased investment in the sector, coupled with improved security and effective administration, would boost revenue, create jobs and provide greater opportunities for people in oil-producing communities.

Ebodei assured supporters that the group would intensify its grassroots mobilisation and public enlightenment campaigns ahead of the 2027 polls.

He expressed confidence that Tinubu would win re-election and continue his administration’s development programmes.

He urged youths, women, students and other Nigerians to embrace peace and participate actively in the democratic process.

“The movement is strong, the support is growing, and we remain committed to the democratic process as we approach 2027,” he said.
