The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has slammed Prophet Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, declaring that his prophecies cannot override the goodwill that the party has garnered in the few days since it was registered.
Ayodele had incurred the wrath of the newly registered party when he claimed that the party and its candidates would fail in the 2027 election.
The publicity secretary of the NDC, Bayelsa State chapter, Prince Mack-Ake in a statement, expressed regret that Ayodele, who was expected to be a spiritual leader, has chosen to dabble in partisan political matters that clearly fall outside his domain.
According to him, rather than focusing on guiding people spiritually, he has increasingly inserted himself into political debates, making statements that appear politically motivated and misleading.
Mack-Ake noted that the NDC is a political party built on a clear ideology, a factor which he said has served as motivation for the teeming youths of Nigeria who are eager for a new direction in leadership.

He pointed out that Ayodele’s views were biased and did not represent the views or aspirations of Nigerians who believe in the NDC as a vehicle for positive transformation and responsible leadership.
Mack-Ake, who recalled several prophecies by Primate Ayodele that failed to come to pass, urged Nigerians to disregard his prophecy about the NDC, stressing that such claims cannot distract or derail the growing momentum of the party.
“As a party that is barely three weeks old, we are proud to inform Nigerians that our online membership registration portal has already recorded over one million registrations within this short period. This clearly demonstrates the widespread acceptance of the NDC as a platform for national renewal, freedom and democratic liberation. The NDC has come to stay and by the grace of God, it will play a decisive role in delivering credible leadership for Nigeria in the 2027 general elections.
“We also reaffirm our confidence in the national leader of the NDC, Henry Seriake Dickson, a statesman who has consistently demonstrated courage, vision and commitment to democratic values. His contributions in the Nigerian parliament have been impactful, making him one of the most active and constructive voices in the National Assembly.
“The NDC remains focused on building a stronger, fairer and more democratic Nigeria,” he stated.
