2027: AAP tackles INEC, vows to take part in polls, charges Nigerians to vote

African Alliance Party

The African Alliance Party (AAP) has lambasted the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), over registration dispute, vowing to participate in the 2027 general elections.

The National Executive Committee of the party also lauded the Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division, for its judgement, ordering INEC to register the it as a political party, and the Supreme Court for striking out INEC’s frivolous stay of execution paving the way for the registration of AAP.

Its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Sadiq, in a statement yesterday, said the NEC discussed extensively on AAP’s preparation for the 2027 general election as it is poised to participate and field credible candidates for the elections who will take Nigeria to greater heights if voted to power.

Sadiq urged INEC to expedite action for the formal registration of AAP as ordered by the appellate court as time is of the essence.

He assured of AAP’s readiness to participate in the 2027 general election and enjoined its members across the country to remain calm and focus on the upcoming elections.

“NEC urged Nigerians to actively participate in the electoral process and vote for candidates of their choice and ensure their votes are counted and count in the overall result and not to rely on INEC’s IReV.

“With AAP a new, better and greater Nigeria is possible,” he added.
