The Director-General of the APC Digital Force, Pharm. Ikeagwuonwu Chinedu Klinsmann has commended the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodimma, for what he described as “bold, strategic and forward-looking leadership” in convening the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) South-East Stakeholders’ Meeting held at Hotel Presidential, Enugu.

In a statement issued from Stockholm, Sweden, Pharm. Klinsmann said the high-level gathering marked a defining moment for the political re-engineering of the South-East within the APC and Nigeria’s national power structure, noting that Governor Uzodimma once again demonstrated why he remains the undisputed leader of the APC in the region and a key pillar of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to Klinsmann, the Enugu meeting went beyond routine party consultations, describing it as a “strategic convergence of political will, realism and regional self-interest,” aimed at repositioning the South-East as an active and indispensable stakeholder in national governance. He noted that the meeting brought together APC governors, serving and former lawmakers, party elders, strategists and opinion leaders from across the five South-East states, all of whom unanimously resolved to work for the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027.

Pharm. Klinsmann praised Governor Uzodimma for his clarity of purpose and courage in addressing long-standing political miscalculations that had previously isolated the South-East from the centre of power. He stated that the Governor’s message at the meeting was firm and unambiguous — that political relevance in a plural democracy like Nigeria is achieved not through emotional posturing, but through strategic alliances, negotiation, and participation in government at the highest level.

He noted that Governor Uzodimma’s call for bloc support for President Tinubu was anchored on performance, not sentiment. According to him, the Imo State Governor rightly highlighted the far-reaching economic reforms, infrastructure investments, security recalibration and institutional restructuring being undertaken by the Tinubu administration, stressing that these policies require continuity to yield full benefits for all regions, including the South-East.

Klinsmann described Governor Uzodimma as a leader whose credibility to speak on governance and reform is backed by his own record in Imo State. He recalled that since assuming office in January 2020, following the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed his mandate, Governor Uzodimma has pursued an aggressive development agenda under the “3Rs” framework of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery, which has resulted in massive road construction, healthcare upgrades, educational investments, improved fiscal discipline and significant security stabilisation in the state.

He added that Imo State, which once struggled with infrastructural decay and insecurity, has been repositioned under Uzodimma as a state with renewed investor confidence and visible governance outcomes. Klinsmann noted that the Governor’s achievements have earned him multiple national recognitions and strengthened his moral authority as a rallying point for progressive politics in the South-East.

Beyond Imo State, the APC Digital Force DG said Governor Uzodimma has consistently played the role of bridge-builder for Ndigbo within the Nigerian federation. He described him as a pragmatic Igbo leader who understands that sustainable regional advancement is achieved through engagement, not isolation. According to Klinsmann, Uzodimma’s leadership within the Progressive Governors’ Forum and his close working relationship with President Tinubu have helped secure increased federal presence in the South-East, including key appointments, infrastructure commitments and renewed attention to regional development concerns.

Pharm. Klinsmann stated that the Enugu stakeholders’ meeting was therefore not an act of political opportunism, but a continuation of Governor Uzodimma’s long-standing advocacy for reintegrating the South-East into Nigeria’s mainstream political and economic architecture. He said the meeting sent a clear message that the region is ready to move beyond protest politics and embrace constructive participation in shaping national outcomes.

The APC Digital Force DG strongly aligned himself with Governor Uzodimma’s assertion that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda represents the most viable pathway for Nigeria’s stability and growth at this critical juncture. He cited the administration’s bold removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange regime, expansion of social investment programmes, launch of the student loan scheme through NELFUND, renewed focus on infrastructure financing, and recalibration of Nigeria’s security strategy as evidence of a government willing to take difficult but necessary decisions.

Klinsmann argued that these reforms, though initially challenging, are already laying the foundation for long-term economic recovery and inclusive growth. He maintained that discontinuity in leadership at this stage would undermine the gains already made, which is why Governor Uzodimma’s call for a second term for President Tinubu is both timely and responsible.

According to Klinsmann, “The South-East stands to gain far more by aligning fully with the APC-led federal government than by standing aloof or adopting a wait-and-see approach.” He stressed that political power is not awarded on the basis of historical grievances alone, but through strategic participation, electoral strength and sustained engagement with the centre.

He therefore urged political leaders, youths, professionals and opinion moulders across the South-East to embrace Governor Uzodimma’s leadership and rally behind President Tinubu ahead of 2027. He said the region must seize the opportunity presented by having a strong APC leader in Uzodimma who enjoys the confidence of the President and understands the intricacies of national power dynamics.

Pharm. Klinsmann also commended the maturity displayed by stakeholders at the Enugu meeting, noting that the absence of rancour and the unanimity of purpose reflected a growing political consciousness within the South-East APC. He described the resolutions reached as a signal that the party in the region is ready to move from opposition posturing to competitive dominance.

He reaffirmed the readiness of the APC Digital Force to deploy its vast digital infrastructure to amplify the resolutions of the Enugu meeting, counter misinformation, mobilise grassroots support and project the achievements of the Tinubu administration across digital platforms. Klinsmann said the organisation would work closely with South-East APC stakeholders to ensure that the message of Renewed Hope resonates with young people, professionals and undecided voters in the region.

The APC Digital Force DG emphasised that Governor Uzodimma’s leadership style — firm, strategic and inclusive — is exactly what the APC requires as it prepares for the 2027 general elections. He noted that history often remembers leaders not for their rhetoric, but for their ability to take decisive action at critical moments, adding that the Enugu meeting would be remembered as one such moment.

In concluding the statement, Pharm. Klinsmann expressed confidence that the South-East’s renewed engagement with the APC would yield tangible political and economic benefits in the years ahead. He stated that President Tinubu has demonstrated openness to inclusive governance and that it is now incumbent on the region to reciprocate with loyalty, participation and electoral support.

“The path to national relevance is not paved with silence or isolation,” Klinsmann said. “It is paved with courage, strategy and engagement. Governor Hope Uzodimma has shown that leadership, and the APC Digital Force stands solidly with him.”

He reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism that with sustained unity and strategic mobilisation, the APC would record historic electoral success in the South-East in 2027.
