Ahead of the 2027 elections, the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has inaugurated its women wing in Ondo State.
The inauguration, held at the AMG secretariat in Akure, had in attendance key leaders of the group and women from across the state.
In his remarks, the Director General of AMG, Asiwaju Muyiwa Asagunla, described the development as a strategic step towards mobilising women across all groups, without discrimination, for the continued success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially towards the re-election of the president in 2027.
Asagunla explained that the group, under the leadership of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is committed to ensuring grassroots mobilisation and giving voice to women, youths, professionals, artisans, and all categories of people who believe in good governance and progress.
Former Commissioner of Water Resources, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Ondo State, Yetunde Adeyanju, was the coordinator of the women wing.
According to her, the AMG would rally people from every sector of human endeavour including market women, artisans, farmers, and professionals, to join hands in sustaining national development.
Adeyanju also assured the leadership of AMG of the women’s readiness to contribute meaningfully to the re-election bid of President Tinubu in 2027.
She praised the Minister of Interior for his initiatives and accessibility, describing him as a leader who has distinguished himself in service.
“Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a man of the people and he is accessible to all. He is a grassroots person that belongs to all groups and politicians in Ondo State. It is his determination to ensure 99 per cent votes for the President in Ondo State,” she said.
Present at the inauguration were the Ondo State Commissioner at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Otito Atikase; Hon. Corporal Nanaopri; General Secretary of AMG, Hon. Rasak Isijola; Deputy Director General, AMG–Central Senatorial District, Hon. Pelemo Ade; Legal Director, Hon. Yele Akinya, member of the Elders’ Council and other principal officers of AMG, who all pledged their support for the new wing. Also in attendance were the women local government coordinators, women senatorial district coordinators, and unit coordinators from across the state.
