President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has called for support for President Bola Tinubu and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 elections.
Akpabio made the call during activities marking the 39th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State.
The Senate President commended Eno for what he described as his administration’s development efforts and called for continued support for the governor and the President.
Akpabio also expressed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying the President’s administration was implementing economic reforms aimed at repositioning the country.
He said the South-South region would support Tinubu in the 2027 election, adding that the President would receive “maximum victory” from the region and other parts of the country.
The Senate President also called for greater cooperation between Akwa Ibom and neighbouring Cross River State, citing the historical and cultural ties between the two states.
He said closer collaboration between the states could promote economic development and strengthen regional integration.
Akpabio also commended the people of Akwa Ibom for their contributions to the development of the state, while reflecting on its 39 years of existence.
Akwa Ibom was created on September 23, 1987, after it was carved out of the former Cross River State. The state marked its 39th anniversary on Wednesday.
