The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has decried the current economic situation in the state, assuring the people of the state that he will ensure massive transformation of the state’s economy if he is elected the governor of the state.
The candidate noted that through the delivery of good governance and exploring strategies that address poverty, unemployment and infrastructure deficits while attracting investments that directly impact the livelihoods of residents, the state will achieve rapid growth and development.
Oluyede made this known in a statement by his Director of Media and Public Communications, Wole Oluyede Campaign Organisation, Chief Sanya Atofarati, on Saturday, where he accused the current All Progressives Congress-led administration in the state of plunging the people into abject poverty and untold hardship through absence of good governance and bad policy implementation.
While promising to lift the people out of poverty and end their sufferings, Oluyede explained that he is not just another candidate but that candidate that will provide the positive change the people have been yearning for over the years.
Reaffirming his message of change, Oluyede revealed that his administration would run a responsible and responsive leadership that prioritises transparent communication and operations and will accommodate public participation to increase trust and accountability.
According to him, the promise of a new era and massive economic transformation is not a mere campaign slogan, but a well-defined vision aimed at building a brighter and more inclusive future for all Ekiti residents.

He maintained that his leadership would ensure a prosperous Ekiti State by focusing on empowering people and communities, creating sustainable employment opportunities, provision of basic social amenities and strengthening security frameworks to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens.
Oluyede further noted that his development blueprint will target pro- people policies and programmes, innovation-driven growth, youth empowerment through skills acquisition, and initiatives that balance economic advancement with social stability.

Describing the ruling APC government in the state as one built on “deceit and manipulation,” he urged residents to remain vigilant and reject what he called “a flood of misinformation in the run-up to the election.”
Oluyede urged Ekiti voters to support him to achieve victory at the polls, expressing confidence that his administration would deliver meaningful progress and lasting development for the state.
