The Chairman of Traditional Rulers Council of Enugu State, Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu, has hailed the government and traditional rulers of Kebbi State for preserving their cultures in the state.

Igwe Ikechukwu stated this during the agricultural shows at the on-going 2026 Argungu fishing festival held in the ancient town of Argungu.

He explained that Kebbi State is very lucky to have Governor Nasir Idris, who is working freely with his friends and people of the state, as well as eminent traditional rulers.

“I want to thank President Bola Tinubu for creating a level-playing field for all of us to be here today at the 61st Argungu fishing festival.

“Secondly, Kebbi State is very lucky to have this governor, Dr. Nasir Idris. He is friendly; he works freely with the people of the state. He moves freely with friends and other leaders in the state. Here, I can see former governors, former legislators. This shows that he is a man everyone would love to have as a governor.

“You are also lucky to have great leaders like Shehu Usman Danfodio, Sheik Abdullahi Gwandu, Emir Gwandu and Emir Argungu and others who have been preserving their kingdoms and cultures of their people. May God continue to be with you all,” Igwe Ikechukwu prayed.

In his remark, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, noted that the Argungu fishing festival had shown that the state and Federal governments were doing a lot in the security of the country.

Sununu said that if there were no security, there would not be a gathering of people from different states to celebrate the rich culture of Kebbi, agriculture and displaying varieties of crops.
