A pressure group in the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the South West, Yoruba Progressive Youths (YPY) has the members of the House of Representatives showed patriotism by passing the 2024 Appropriation Bill speedily.

The group, in a statement, by its President, Otunba Kola Salau, on Sunday, commended the lawmakers for ensuring that the January -December budget cycle is sustained.

It urged President Bola Tinubu to quickly assent to the budget in order to ameliorate the hardship faced by Nigerians.

The group noted that “worthy of commendation is a man that many Nigerians didn’t believe would deliver on mandate. The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, RT. Hon. Abubakar Bichi is the man of the year. He dazzled the naysayers and came out clean and beat the record as the first Chairman of Committee who delivered on Appropriation Bill within one month.

“We watched with disbelief, how Hon. Bichi cordinated his Colleagues, especially Committee Chairmen to beat the time frame of January-December budget circle, even when he had no much time in his disposal.

“We are happy that Bichi and his Committee didn’t disappoint us. The Yoruba Progressive Youths celebrate his sincerity, we celebrate his doggedness, we celebrate his patriotism and determination, to contribute to the attainment of the renewed hope mantra of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

The pressure group, while pledging its loyalty to the leadership of the 10th House, for providing enabling environment for the smooth legislative activities on the 2024 Appropriation Bill, said, “it is now confirmed that the legislature is not working to sabotage the good intentions of our dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
