2024 Budget: FG earmarks N33,616,158 for refreshments, meals for State House

Federal Government has allocated the sum of N33,616,158 for refreshments and meals while it also set aside N152,360,959 for honorarium and sitting allowances.

This was captured in the 2024 federal government budget document, obtained by Daily Sun.

Also, the government budgeted N3,500,000 to build the office of Special Assistants (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) in the State House.

In the budget, the sum of N351,084,550 was earmarked for the purchase of tyres for bullet-proof vehicles, plain cars, platform trucks, jeeps, ambulances and other utility operation and vehicles.

Similarly, the federal government will use N26,117,800 to purchase plants, nursery equipment for the production of local flowers.

Recall that the Federal Government’s 2024 aggregate expenditure is estimated at N27.50 trillion.

“This is 10.8 per cent (or about
N2.68 trillion) higher than the 2023 federal government aggregate expenditure estimate of N24.82 trillion
(including the N2.996 billion supplementary provision).
“The 2024 expenditure estimate includes statutory transfers of N1.30 trillion and non-debt
recurrent expenditure of N10.26 trillion.
“The provisions of N8.25 trillion and N243 billion have been made for Debt Service and Sinking
Fund to retire maturing bonds issued to local contractors/creditors, respectively” the document noted
