Commissioner for Information in Delta State, Mr. Charles Aniagwu has said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is presently mobilising youths across the country in recognition of their potentials to play critical roles in the governance of Nigeria beyond 2023.
Aniagwu said the youths were not being mobilised for the sake of galvanizing votes for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who doubles as the governor of Delta State.
He spoke on Wednesday in Asaba on the sidelines of the inauguration of Delta State chapter of PDP New Generation.
According to the commissioner, the inauguration was to bring everybody on board in the mission to reset and rescue Nigeria through the Atiku-Okowa ticket.
He said the envisaged Atiku-Okowa presidency “is not just interesting in getting the youths to go and bring out the votes, they are interested in getting the youths to play very critical role in leadership.
“Look at the youth leader in PDP, he is just 25 years old, that means they are already recognising the potentials in the youths to play this critical role.”
Aniagwu insisted that the PDP has got the ability to recognise that we have what it takes to know the different issues that affect us, get out leaders to stay on top of them and not under them, to be able to now reverse the trajectory of our country today which is not in any way exciting to anybody.
“Otherwise, failure to do that means that we have subjected ourselves to another level of suffering which APC is ready to replicate.”
He noted that supporting the APC ticket is a dangerous adventure, saying those thinking of supporting the ruling party is already doomed at the family level.
Aniagwu also said Nigeria with it’s potentials, has no need borrowing, but that the country should actually be lending to other countries across the world.
“Everyone talks about Nigeria being potentially rich yet the APC-led government is busy borrowing which means we don’t have what we need to run the country.
“And you need to be able to pull everybody together, pull resources together, ensure that every hand is on deck for you to be able to get those resources that you require for you to be able to deliver.
“Nigeria should be in a position to lend money not only to other African countries but to other countries across the world because the good Lord has blessed us with abundant resources.
“And that is why the Atiku-Okowa ticket is set to reset and rescue Nigeria and bring it back it to winning ways,” he added.
