Chairman of Nigerian Book Fair Trust (NBFT), Michael Oluwadare Oluwatuyi, has announced that the 22nd edition of NIBF, with the theme: “The Role of a Functional National Book Policy in the African Book Ecosystem,” will, now, take place at Yard 158 Event Arena, Opposite The Citadel, Plot 34, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State, instead of the usual venue on Lagos Island, from Wednesday to Saturday May 13 May, 2023.

Oluwatuyi, national president, Booksellers Association of Nigeria and managing director, CSS Bookshops Limited, said the venue was shifted after considering different complaints about the high participation cost when the book fair was moved to Lagos Island.

He disclosed the opening ceremony would be on Wednesday and would have the theme of the conference discussed at the conference, with the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, Ismail Junaidu, as the guest speaker.

Other speakers expected at the conference include John Asein, director general, Nigerian Copyright Commission; Olasupo Jegede, former dean of Faculty of Education, University of Lagos; and Folu Agoi, national president, PEN Nigeria.

The chairman of the conference is Hamid Bobboyi, executive secretary of Universal Basic Education Commission, while the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, will be the special guest of honour.
