Aide to Ikenna Iyiegbu, a House of Representatives aspirant for Idemili North/South Federal Constituency in Anambra State, in the forthcoming 2023 general election, Favor Onochie has said that the politician will bring goodwill associated with his family name to bear if the ticket and elected.
Onochie said Ikenna who is elder brother to Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana is seeking to represent his people under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Onochie assured that Ikenna will bring the goodwill of Iyiegbu family to give Idemili North/South quality representation at Abuja while reacting to an earlier statement credited to a chieftain of APGA advising him not to venture into politics because God has blessed his family with the capability to empower people all over, through philanthropic services and thus the family needed not delve into politics.
He faulted the advice, stressing that political leadership anywhere in the world requires people of goodwill, sound background, track record of success in credible field of human endeavour, and people of credible reputations such as the Iyiegbu family, noting that it is neither right nor safe to leave political leadership to people of questionable characters who depend on public office to earn their living.
He added: “For us in the Ikenna Iyiegbu team for Idemili North/South seat in the Federal House of Representatives 2023, it is a welcome development to have someone from a credible family to offer himself for the service of his people.”
