Two men were on Friday docked in a Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos State, for allegedly importing fake condoms.
The police charged Emeka Daniel, 32, and Ugochukwu Eze, 35, whose addresses were not provided, with a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and perversion of justice.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecutor, Superintendent of Police. Josephine Ikhayere said the offence was committed on June 23 in the Lagos Magisterial district.

She also said that the defendants did pervert justice by aiding and preventing the apprehension of the co-importer and seller of the said kiss condom.
She said the offence is contrary to the provisions of Sections 97(1), 362, and 412 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Section 362 prescribes three years’ imprisonment for anyone found guilty of forgery. Section 97 (1) also prescribes two years of imprisonment for anyone found guilty of perverting justice. The Magistrate, Mr. Lafeef A. Owolabi admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of ₦500,000. He also ordered them to provide two reliable sureties in like sum.
