Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, murderers and rapists, recovering 481 rounds of ammunition in Azuba, Lafia. Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, said: “Criminals have started relocating from the state.

“The command is committed to community policing. It is recognised as playing a critical role in enhancing security. This makes Nasarawa State calm and peaceful.

“Within four months, we arrested over 60 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and cultists. Ten victims were rescued, stolen vehicles and arms recovered from their hideouts. The suspects have been charged to court, others still under investigation.

“We want to appreciate the state government for its operational support and synergy with sister agencies, including vigilance groups. We work together to flush criminals out of the state. Operatives arrested a notorious suspected kidnapper at Shinge Market, Lafia.

“Police Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS), arrested a suspected 21-year-old female gunrunner. We recovered 481 rounds of ammunition, including 400 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm and 81 rounds of 7.62mm NATO grade bullets at Azuba.
