Zulum begins grain distribution in Borno’s liberated town

From Timothy Olanrewaju, Maiduguri

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has commenced the distribution of grains to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state’s liberated town.

He said the distribution was part of the Federal Government’s national strategic grains reserve initiative to the needy Nigerians.

“We will distribute 50kg of grains to 10,000 households in Pulka, 18,000 females will get a wrapper and N10,000 cash each,” the governor disclosed at Pukka, a town located South East of Maiduguri.

He said the distribution targeted at about 22,000 beneficiaries, would be extended to neighbouring communities in the area affected by Boko Haram violence.

He commended the president for his support to the people of Bormo. “Apart from this, we have also received several assistance from the FG. Recently, President Bola Tinubu also approved funds for the take off of the Federal College of Education, Gwoza.”
