The Nigeria Basketball Federation has rescheduled the second Phase of the Atlantic Conference group of the ongoing Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League from the initial September date to October.

The second phase scheduled to dunk-off on September 18 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State, will now start on October 2 and end on October 8.

According to the NBBF, the new date was necessitated after the change in date of the National Youth Games which is taking place at the same venue and will affect the staging of the league.

In a letter sent to all the affected clubs and made available to our correspondent, it stated that all the inconveniences are regretted.

“Following the sudden change of dates for the 2023 National Youth Games (NYG) by the Federal Ministry of Sports Development and the Delta State Sports Commission, the Second Phase of the Atlantic Conference of the 2023 NBBF/ZENITH league earlier scheduled to hold from September 18 to 24, has been rescheduled,” the statement from the federation read.

It however gave a new date of October 2 to 8 at the same venue.

It would be recalled that during the week, the Ministry of Sports Development announced a change of date of the NYG from September 7 to now start on September 21 and will end on September 30.

Meanwhile, the NBBF has said the Second Phase of the Savannah Conference will continue as scheduled with the dunking off taking place on September 18 at the Lafia City Hall, Shendam Road, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
