Zenith Bank, Prof Edozien, Christopher Okonkwo, others honoured at Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards 2024

A renowned ICT manager, Christopher Okonkwo has joined the list notable Nigerians to receive award of recognition in the recently concluded Silent Heroes Awards.

He bagged the honour of Silent Hero in Cyber security and Artificial Intelligence in recognition of his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment, nation-building and enhancement of the ICT ecosystem.

Others who won at the 2024 annual Nigerian Silent Heroes Award (NSHA) ceremony organised by NSHA Initiative include the Senator representing Delta North, Sen. Ned Nwoko, Governor of Delta State, RT. Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwor, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, and others.

Okonkwo has attracted accolades in recent times for his innovations which have helped in improving services in the banking and health sector through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

A former banker in Nigeria before his relocation to the UK, Okonkwo has worked in one of the top four audit firms in the world where he deployed his years of experience to further add value to the firm in nipping internet fraud.

In the health sector, Okonkwo’s expertise in AI technology has been truly unparalleled. He has also ventured into Al-based analytic data tracking and measuring product for the healthcare sector.

These and many more qualified him for the highly coveted award of honour.

According to the Convener, Mrs. Ozioma Odita Sunday, “In our larger society, there are men and women who are silently working assiduously behind the scenes to oil our nation’s wheel of progress.

“These people are SILENT HEROES in their own right but have largely remained unsung and under-celebrated. Believe it or not, they are the reason our nation has made the modest progress recorded in different spheres in contemporary times.”
